Amazing bartender who served me and my family of 10 . Marco was attentive and made our first experience here a great one! He was not only the only person on the floor serving but he was also bartending! Rafa was also a huge help as well. Both were so polite, me and my family were very impressed and left full and happy. I will be back when I travel through again! If you come here you will NOT be disappointed. Oh and the food was AMAZING!!!! Huge portions!!

Service was lovely, the staff was so friendly from our host to the wait staff...very large menu (sorta hard to choose)food arrived within 15min and was delicious!!!! Kids menu was perfect for my little, and our meals were so delicious!!! Definitely recommend to anyone!!!!

Liked this place and it is good food being served usually don't like Mexican restaurants cause I grew up with home cooked Mexican food.

We're in town visiting family, and met them here for dinner on our first night. The place is beautiful and amazingly decorated inside and out. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. The service aspect was unexpectedly slow considering we were one of only about 3 tables worth of people seated in the place. My sister expressed that that was actually rather odd, but I thought I'd mention for anyone else to consider when visiting. Overall we had a blast!

Loved the margarita! - The pomegranate margarita had real pomegranate rubies and had great flavor. Chips and salsa were fresh and included cheesy bean dip. The shrimp diablo had an amazing perfectly spicy sauce and substituting mushrooms for peppers and onion wasn't a problem . The decor was fun and festive..fried ice cream for 2 drizzled in honey was one step away from pleasure overload. Bravo amigos!

My youngest son Vinny brought me here on a, "Mother, Son Date" and it was so adorable. The food was delicious and plentiful so come hungry. The staff was delightful and the atmosphere is so neat! What a lovely addition to our town. Stick around Calavera We love you!

We had the mango margaritas with the Tajin chili salt on the rim, super good!

On March 26th we were able to get some mexican take out from Calavera. It was excellent. It was even delivered to our car as we called from the car outside. Grateful!!

Food was great! Service terrific. Sure hope they make a go of it. They made me a custom drink from the bar that was perfect! Great atmosphere with interesting decor. Highly recommend.

Food had a lot of flavor but didn’t feel too heavy. We had the buffet, lunch special ($8.99), which was very good.

Excellent food, fantastic service and funky ambiance. This is what Cottonwood needed - a Mexican restaurant that had a nice atmosphere and delicious menu with a modern Latin vibe. Family friendly, clean bathrooms and free chips and salsa all are added bonuses. Highly recommend the taquitos and fajitas, as well as the fish tacos. Every meal is better than the next.

Best Chili Verde I’ve ever had! Good margs too.

Was very disappointed in my experience here. We sat around about 20 minutes waiting for our order to finally be taken. Then we all finished our drinks and the waiter would literally walk by, look at our table (all drinks empty) and just keep walking. Never got a refill until I got up and asked someone if they could refill our drinks. I had a grilled chicken torta that was supposed to have a lot of things on it but it ended up only having the chicken and lettuce. Didn’t taste bad but wow.... overall disappointed. Food wasn’t bad but the service was TERRIBLE. There was almost nobody in the restaurant either so they weren’t busy.... very very disappointed in the staff and service.

Love their food, lots of options (chipotle shrimp is the bomb), good place to watch games as they have lots of TVs. Service can be hit or miss; some days it's really good and they're totally on the ball, some days not so much. Overall though I love coming here.

Always amazing food, they help you feel at home, my MIL gets a white sangria that looks delicious. Oh and the decorations are awesome. Yeah a huge 4 thumbs up from me and MIL

We had our Company Christmas party there last night. This was our 2nd year holding it at Calavera. Great atmosphere and food. We had more employees attend this year vs. any prior year, which tells us the employees are enjoying the location.

Love this place. I have tried almost all Mexican food restaurants in the Cottonwood area & Calavera is, by far, the best! I've sampled a variety of different foods & they have all been outstanding. And their house margarita is one of the best I've EVER had. ENJOY!

The decor is absolutely stunning, and makes it worth the visit. The food was okay, however. I had their spinach enchilada (I think), and it tasted bland.

Taco Tuesday... All you can eat taco bar for $8.99 per person. Freshly fried taco shells, 2 kinds of fajita style meats plus, ground beef, shredded beef, and chicken meat and all the toppings - cheese, tomato, lettuce, and homemade salsa.(The only topping that I wished for was sour cream and maybe some hot sauce.) IN ADDITION, the taco bar includes homemade refried beans that are amazing and nice fluffy fresh rice. They also offered salad and dessert (mini sopapillas, a gingery cake, and my favorite, mini carmel filled churros). What about the service??? Perfect! our drinks were never empty, our used plates were promptly taken away, the bill was correct, the place was clean, and the employees were friendly.

Yanez and another gentleman were very attentive to our table while my family and I were eating dinner here. The food was incredible and so was the service. Thank you.

This was the best carne asada burrito that I've had in northern Arizona. I've searched for service that has matched delicious Latin cuisine and was pleasantly surprised by Calavera and they're excellent service. The complimentary salsa and spicy bean dip is an excellent starter. The drink menu is affordable. The menu is robust with excellent choices. The owner, Luis, was friendly and made mention of a strong desire to bring excellent Latin cuisine to his patrons. He has come to bring excellent food and excellent service to the Verde Valley. I believe he will be well received by locals and tourists alike.

Overall, they have excellent service, large portion sizes, and lovely decor that really completes the experience! I ordered the mole enchilada plate which could have been more sweeter and spicier but other than that I really enjoyed my meal.

Good food. Great atmosphere. Ridiculous prices for Mexican food that can be picked up at a small shop down the st. 75$ for 2 meals a margarita and 2 beers. It was one of the better Mexican foods Ive been to in Cottonwood though. Hard to find real Mexican food in this town. Such as guacamole

Huge plates of food. The ceviche is delicious. If you like TV, they have that, too. I wasn't paying attention to that. Did I see a dart board?

Great food and an awesome place to see an NFL game. Staff is friendly and they serve good sized portions. Would highly recommend.

Great food ! Service was great also and the decor was amazing really good time definitely a return visit is required ! A different take on one of my favorite dishes but delicious and just as good as i usually get it at other places my server was also amazing did a really good job attending to our needs and requests

Not the best Mexican food in town I'd rather got to taco Bell or maybe even Tia Juanita's in fact if you are looking for Authentic I would definitely recommend Tia Juanita's on sixth street awesome food friendly cozy the food here was rather bland

Great kids meals, great vegetarian fajitas, great beer. Wings were not as good, I really should have gotten some Mexican food. 😆

I usually enjoy my time here and the food. I picked this place for Taco Tuesday since it has a buffet style one versus Plaza Bonita, Hacienda and Su Casa. I asked two separate employees if they had the buffet tonight and the reply was yes. When it came time to order the food after eating chips and salsa and drinking our beverages we were told they did not have the buffet tonight because they were only letting a private party eat from the buffet. This is not what I expected. Next time it will be another choice.

The service was poor. I asked the waitress to have my friends order be put in 10 minutes after mine because she was coming a few minutes later and the waitress brought them at the same time. I asked her to take it and at least put it under the heat lamp and she said we're busy I can't (with attitude) she did take it. When my friend showed up she brought the plate and loudly dropped it in front of her and walked away. She wanted to order a drink but server didn't care. We wanted more water and we had to hunt our server down, by the time we got her attention it was time to go and when I asked for our check and we said no to dessert she swung her arms in the air. Wow! My friend said the food is tasteless and the service sucks!! We didn't leave a tip and know why at lunchtime on Friday they have no business. Sorry guys but never going back

This was a refreshing place !! It is very inviting and the people are fun and helpful. The food is delicious ... it blends great with the alcohol options. It is a must to see and eat ;)

Best Mexican food in the Verde Valley. I've tried most all & Calaveras food is consistently good. It's very flavorful while not too spicy. Prices are good & their house margarita is amazing (& huge). Definitely a good value! Give them a try and ENJOY!

Outstanding service from everyone there! The Tuesday Taco Bar for 8.99 is where it's at. These guys hook it up fat and they totally know how to provide exceptional table service. My drink was never less than half full the entire time I was having dinner. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodation.
